How and when can I apply for a Waiver of capping of marks? - Hot Topic


If you do not pass a module, you will be registered later in the Academic year for the Autumn 2025 Supplemental examinations by the Student Records and Examinations Office (provided there is a Supplemental examination for the module concerned) You will receive information about registration and your timetable if applicable from the SREO in July 2025.
 
Please check if there is a Supplemental exam for the module(s) in question by consulting the Book of Modules at https://reg.ucc.ie/curriculum/modules/

You can apply for Mitigation - Waiver of capping of Marks for the Autumn 2025 Supplemental examinations in the two week period after your Semester 1 and 2 results have been finalised. This will be when your Summer results are released.

Provided your results have been released an online form is now available to you for 2 weeks only from the time your results released. For information re applying and to access the application form please see Mitigation - Waiver of capping of marks
 
 
Please note the following;

Only those with mitigating circumstances which prevented the student from attending scheduled examination(s) or submitting assignment(s) during Semesters 1 and/or 2 or who performed poorly due to mitigating circumstances need apply.
