How do I apply for mitigation?
A dedicated webpage for information about COVID-19, containing FAQ’s, can be accessed here
Mitigation acknowledges certain circumstances that may impact on your performance at the first attempt of an exam or assessment.
There are two types of Mitigation, deferral or waiver of capping.
- Mitigation application form – deferral: Use this if you want to defer all your exams and/or assessments, because of documented circumstances that impact substantially on your ability to prepare for or perform at your best in an exam.
- Mitigation application form – waiver of capping: Use this if there were documented circumstances that impacted on your performance in an exam or assessment. If successful, your marks in a repeat exam or assessment will not be capped. You cannot apply for waiver of capping in February when you receive provisional results from Semester 1 - you must wait until your results have been approved by an exam board in June/July.
