What does “Exempt” mean?

If you pass some modules but fail others, you are exempt from re-taking the modules you have passed, but you must re-take all failed modules at a supplemental or in a repeat year.

For example, if you pass 6 modules and fail 2 modules, your overall result for the year will be “Exempt 6”.

This means that you will not have to re-take the 6 modules you have passed; however, you must re-take the 2 failed modules at a supplemental (usually Autumn) or in a repeat year.
