If I am sick on the day of an exam, what should I do?

Please note: A dedicated webpage for information about COVID-19, containing FAQ’s, can be accessed here.

If you are unable to attend an exam due to illness, you do not need to contact anyone on the day. You will be automatically registered for the supplemental exam opportunity (if available). You should submit a  “Mitigation Application Form – Waiver of Cappingbefore your supplemental exam. If approved, your marks will not be capped at the supplemental or repeat year exams.

If you feel unwell during an exam, let an invigilator know. If you are able to continue with the exam, there will be a record of your illness. You should submit medical certification even if you do complete the exam. If you cannot complete the exam, you should submit a “Mitigation Application Form – Waiver of Capping” before your supplemental exam, to request the waiver of capping of marks at the supplemental or repeat year exams.

Applications for waiver of capping will not be accepted by SREO until exam results have been finalised and released. Please note Semester 1 examination results are provisional and subject to change. Once final examination results (Semester 1 & Semester 2 combined) have been released, you have two weeks from the release of examination results to apply for waiver of capping, if applicable.
