Can I defer my place on a taught masters?

To apply for a one-year deferral applicants must, in the first instance, have accepted their offer of a place through the UCC application portal and must have met all offer conditions.

Please be advised that it is not possible to apply for a deferral if your offer is conditional.

If there is a programme deposit required on acceptance of a full offer this must be paid. The programme deposit will be transferred to the following year if your deferral is granted.

Applicants wishing to defer their place must complete the Deferral Application Form and pay a non-refundable fee of €50.00. Not all postgraduate taught programmes allow deferrals. Programmes that allow deferrals are listed in the Deferral Application Form

Deferral requests will only be considered prior to registration.

Please read the Postgraduate Taught Deferrals Policy carefully before applying.

Please note: If you are an international student (from outside the EU) please use this webform to submit your request.
