What does Learning Support for students with dyslexia and dyscalculia involve?

Please note: A dedicated webpage for information about COVID-19, containing FAQ’s, can be accessed here.

Our learning support programme for students with dyslexia and dyscalculia is called Learning+ and is open to all students registered with the DSS with dyslexia and dyscalculia.

Following a needs assessment with your advisor you may be able to avail of the following:

  • One to one dyslexia tuition for reading, note-taking, spelling difficulties, organisational skills, maths advice, revision and memory techniques.
  • One to one writing tuition (this is not a proofreading service, rather a tuition service) • Assistive technology advice and training.
  • Dyslexia resource library
  • We also offer support to students with Dyspraxia/DCD and ADD where you will be assigned a mentor, where needed. The mentor can assist you to keep on track with assignments and deadlines, create a study plan and assist with finding the lecture venues and managing your timetable and liaising back with the DSS
